New Bike Barge for Port to Port Ferry
Port to Port Cruises and Wildlife Tours is increasing its capacity to carry passengers and bikes by introducing a new 'bike barge' into the existing cycle ferry service.
Currently the Sootychaser ferry can take up to 15 bikes and passengers between portobello and Port Chalmers.
The new bike barge can carry up to 20 bikes at a time, while the Sootychaser ferry, skippered by Rachel McGregor, carries the passengers.
Passengers receive an in-depth commentary as they travel from 'Port to Port', while 'Cycling the Loop' of Otago Harbour, while their bicycles go by barge, making loading and travelling more spacious, comfortable, quicker and interesting for passengers and operators.

Owner and skipper of the Port to Port Ferry, Rachel McGregor
