News & Events Jack's Point to Frankton Cycle Trail Construction Starts

This trail is set to play an important role in how the whole southern corridor community move through the area — providing a safe and scenic route for walking and cycling, while strengthening links between Park Ridge, Woolbrae, Hanley’s Farm, Jacks Point,  and beyond; making it easier to access local schools, amenities, and employment hubs without relying on a car.

Helping to bring this active travel link between Jacks Point and Frankton to life, Kaha Ake have commenced with construction through Woolbrae's recreation reserve, linking Hanley’s Farm to Park Ridge, laying the groundwork for the remainder of the trail to be completed in the coming summer. Woolbrae Development Manager James Kirkham says "the trail will bring the wider Queenstown trail network step closer to home for the residents in the southern corridor. It adds another dimension to the lifestyle on offer at Woolbrae, where the outdoors is never far from your front door.”

Trust CEO Mark Williams says “It’s amazing to have the support of Kaha Ake to deliver this vital link through Woolbrae, and will give the project real momentum as we move into the spring”

Queenstown Trails will be able to update on the construction program once the contract is awarded, with some vegetation clearance work starting as soon as September.
